Fairtrade textile standard and individual introduction to the standard
The Fairtrade Textile Standard is a certification for each processing stage of the textile supply chain.
The offer
The Fairtrade Textile Standard is a certification for each processing stage of the textile supply chain - from ginning to garment manufacturing and has the underlying goal of empowering workers. Certified operations must implement a living wage within six years. With the addition of Textile Program, the approach goes beyond inspection and certification, combining a rigorous standard with a program that supports workers and factories on the ground. The standard ensures traceability through the entire textile supply chain down to the individual fiber.
About the company / organisation
Fairtrade Max Havelaar is a non-profit foundation based in Zurich. In Switzerland, it awards the Fairtrade label to products that are produced and traded fairly according to comprehensive social and ecological criteria. Fairtrade certified products promote higher incomes and better working conditions for smallholder farmers and workers who are disadvantaged by unfair global trade practices.
Advantages for committed actors
Obligated actors have the opportunity to receive a free, individual introduction. This addresses the underlying criteria and the certification process. The individual introduction takes place on request and lasts about 30 minutes. If interested, Fairtrade Max Havelaar-Switzerland can be contacted.
